Holden Carver is a double agent without a choice. Spymaster John Lynch - the only man who knows his mission - lies in a coma. Tao - the criminal mastermind whose organisation Carver has infiltrated - is growing suspicious... or maybe just playing a particularly cruel game of cat and mouse. Can Holden evade detection by those who think he's an ally, avoid capture from those who believe he's a traitor and somehow survive with his soul intact...? Sleeper: Season One collects issues #1 to 12 of the comic book series by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. At its core it's a harsh and uncompromising super-spy tale, shot through with both noir and black humour. Holden Carver is 'the Conductor', a super-powered agent of the nameless global crime syndicate run by the terrifying Tao. Holden Carver is also an agent of global spy group International Operations, working in deep cover... but the only person who knows his secret is lying in a coma. Can Carver keep hidden from his 'colleagues' without blowing his mission, or will necessity force him to truly become evil? An intricate and beautifully plotted and illustrated series. Certainly one series worth checking out. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
