Celebrating David Suchet's 20th anniversary of playing Agatha Christie's enigmatic, eccentric and extremely intelligent detective Hercule Poirot, this collection contains all 61 episodes of the show's seven series spread over 28 discs. From England to the Mediterranean, accompanied by his elegant and trustworthy sidekicks, Captain Hastings, Chief Inspector Japp and Miss Lemon, Poirot pits his wits against a collection of first class deceptions... Agatha Christie: Poirot: The Complete Collection contains all 61 episodes starring David Suchet. From 1989's series one to 2008's series twelve, this is the definitive DVD collection. I was a little confused by the packaging of this DVD which claimed that it contained "all seven series" a quick search on the Internet reveals that there have been 12 series, and the DVDs we received for review also mentioned that the episodes were from series 12. We only received two episode from series twelve (Mrs McGinty's Dead and Appointment with Death) to review the entire box set from, but I've seen just about every episode already and will probably be picking this up to buy myself anyway. To be honest, I've no idea if there are any features whatsoever on this collection, and I don't care. The episodes themselves are well worth the retail price alone. Who really want to know how long Suchet takes to get into character, whether he has a nickname for his moustache, or what the director was trying to achieve with a certain scene? Here are 61 episodes of classic Poirot. What self respecting Agatha Christie fan could ask for more? 10 Nick Smithson |
