Daisy Brookes leaves her young boyfriend (the only person in her life) and his farmland to pursue a degree at college. Once there she is immediately targeted by Azalea and her Ivy society. She is set-up and indoctrinated because Azalea wants the internship that Daisy is apparently in line to get. Daisy turns to an older student, Dean, but she is unaware that his mother is an Ivy... This is apparently the fourth in the series of films, following Poison Ivy, Poison Ivy II: Lily, and Poison Ivy: The New Seduction. I was only previously aware of the first, but judging by the content of this third sequel I don't think I've been missing too much. It's very formulaic and totally unoriginal. A rich bitch and her gang attempts to do down the innocent, lily-white new girl, and inevitably fails. It's hardly original, is it? Even the inclusion of a sect rather like a female student Masons can't beef-up an already dire script. There are a few scenes of sex and seduction, but it seems obvious that these have been injected merely to attract a young teen audience to a tedious plot. There have been recent rumours of yet another sequel to this series of movies, but I'm relieved to hear that they came to nothing. There's not much else to say about The Secret Society, except avoid this one, it's poison. 3 Ty Power |
