Chuck is getting married, and his soon-to-be best man, Sammy, has arranged a 'golfing' trip for him and a handful of friends. In reality he has secured the bungalow of Gordon, a rather strange and formal former friend of the group, for a bachelor party. Not only is there drink aplenty, but Sammy has arranged for the seeming precipitous arrival of three strippers for a night of carnal delight. However, even Sammy has no inkling of the true nature of the girls. As Chuck's fiancé phones to announce that she is on her way to tell him something, Sammy has his hands full trying to save his friend from the clutches of vampire babes... This is one of a second batch of six releases from Brain Damage Films, bringing mainly low-budget independent horror films to a new audience at the low price of only £2.99 each. I selected this one to watch and review first because I wanted to get it out of the way. With a title like Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned, I was expecting the worst and pretty much got it. It's a long way from being the worst film I've ever seen, but it does reduce itself to horror-by-numbers from the outset, with practically every cliché in existence raising its ugly head at some point. Without being too unkind, the so-called sexy strippers are not exactly Miss Worlds without their horrific vampire beast make-up, so... well, you get the picture. The character of Sammy essentially carries the entire piece, and even he meanders his way through events as though this sort of thing happens every Friday night. Just a comment about the sound, which is extremely loud at a low volume setting. It was the only thing in the film which startled me. 2 Ty Power |
