2058, Lunar Outpost Alpha. Major Edward Kane, Chief of Military Operations for the Extra-Terrestrial Encounter Organisation, has been called in to investigate reports of strange energy readings and missing personnel. Aid Major Kane and his men as you head out to uncover the mysteries surrounding the outpost and face off against an unseen enemy. Welcome to the Moon...

The Nintendo DS isn't really the best platform for first person shooters (FPS) but Moon's control system is so fluid that I'm beginning to wonder why there aren't more readily available that are just as good. Moon delivers rich environments and robust FPS game play at a blistering 60 frames per seconds and really sets a new benchmark for this genre on the DS.

As you progress through the levels you acquire a range of different weapons which you can use to destroy your enemy. But you'll have to engage in tactical play as your health is quickly depleted and you won't be able to stay out in the open and fire at your enemy without taking heavy damage.

Along the way you can collect alien artifacts, jump inside your turret-equipped buggy or pilot the Remote Search Droid to explore the Moon’s darkest corners and access areas that you can't reach on foot as the story slowly unfolds.

With great graphics and sound (there are segments of the game that also use some impressive vocal acting) Moon is an addictive game that represents a giant leap for the DS FPS genre.
