Operate everything from the small diggers to mammoth earth movers. Get to know what it feels like behind the controls of the largest 240 metre long bucket wheel excavators through a highly detailed control panel. In addition to this there are bulldozers, track-type loaders, dumpers, and excavators all available to help you to perform the variety of tasks included. Tasks take place in an open-pit mine and a gravel pit where you will need to make full use of the equipment available to you to complete the job successfully... There are three main modes in Digger Simulator: Open Pit Mining, Gravel Pit and Missions. The Open Pit Mining mode allows you to control the large bucket-wheel excavator. There are five main elements of the excavator that can be controlled. In Gravel Pit mode you are in charge of storage and logistics in the Gravel Pit - you have a choice of four construction vehicles available for transporting sand. In Missions mode you have the ability to engage in five training missions. While Digger Simulator has potential, I couldn't help feeling that there could have been more to the gameplay. Unlike some of Excalibur Publishing's recent simulator releases, I couldn't help but feel that this has a very limited appeal, and simply driving a digger around wasn't quite as challenging, or as much fun, as I was hoping it would be. Still, if you're a simulator fanatic then you'll enjoy the chance to drive these machines. 6 Pete Boomer |
