Timo Mass returns with an extended re-rub of my Toys Like Me track 'Grin and Wriggle', for an exclusive 12” release on Dumb Angel.

This is an 18 minute long track which takes you full circle starting with a slow, dark spacey intro building up to trip-hop and dub, house, and drum ‘n’ bass.

With taunting vocals from Frances Noon, not unlike those of Lily Allen, this track has its own distinctive sounds for the new era Poptronica.

This track is split into seven parts; we start with the slow, eerie dark intro, which after two minutes moves onto the slow percussion beats. After four minutes the bass kicks in and the vocals are used less. At eight minutes the beat changes again and becomes more prominent. Then reaching 10 minutes into the track the regular beat makes a come back. At 12 minutes we see a dancier groove and as we reach 16 minutes plus the track quietens and eventually plays out with the intro.

'Grin and Wriggle', is a dark, mishmash of noise. Although at times I did get carried away with the beat, there is nothing likeable about the crunching synth. sounds that make up the majority of this track.
