'My Girls', is the first single taken from Animal Collective’s recent album, Merriweather Post Pavilion.

This is a single which is five and a half minutes too long. Its over enthusiastic wide-eyed track and vocals with handclaps make it a little too sickly sweet.

The intro lasts 1 min, 30 sec and I think the best part of this song is the vocal harmonies in this opening segment. Moving on to the rest of the track things become a little messy and there is too much going on to be able to enjoy it.

Even the single cover gives you a headache, with the bright yellow, red and green colours. The letters seem to move around when you move your eyes to certain positions, a little bit like one of those optical illusions you used to get back in the 90s. Sadly, this was previously used on the band's album cover and is as repetitive and dull as the music.
