2562 was named after the postcode in The Hague, Netherlands where he lives, real name Dave Huismans. The Hague is a city detached from the main epicentres of dubstep and brings with it a uniqueness to this project. The first album from 2562 was Aerial, which was said to have pushed both his creative talents and the boundaries of dubstep to another level. He is now back with his ever-creative juices with the new LP Unbalance. Made up of 12 tracks this album is said to see the use of drum programming as well as innovative sample regeneration. I would like to be able to rave about this album but I just can’t do it. It’s all very repetitive. There is no real rhythm and tune to the tracks. The only track I can say sounded a little okay was ‘Like A Dream’; I felt that this at least had a good beat to it. Everything else on the album is made up of squeaks, jangles, and sonic sounds and to be honest pure boredom begins to set in. This really is a disappointing effort and I can’t warrant talking about each track as I feel I would not only be wasting my time but I’m sure you have much better things to be doing than reading about this album. Certainly an album to avoid. 1 Helena Rea Buy this item online
