This title includes selected items from the Morecambe & Wise Television Show. Bringing us sunshine on this recording are 'Ern's magnificent body', 'A visit from the police' and Ernie's going to be 'Bob Hope's chief scriptwriter'. Other highlights from Eric and Ern's TV show from 1971 include 'The diamond ring in the window', and 'Carry on Ern'. So, what do you think of it so far...?

It's Morecambe & Wise was originally released on LP back in 1971. Sadly, this collection of sketches doesn't include any of the show's truly classic moments, but there are some interesting sketches here.

While there are plenty of moments to make you smile, I was surprised at how many of the sketches seem to just end with a bit of a whimper. It's almost as though the writers didn't know how to finish the sketch.

Also, a lot of the material here is from the opening monologue of the show - never the funniest part. However there are some genuinely funny moments, even if we know how everything's going to pan out - Ern being chosen to be Bob Hope's new script writer is probably this album's stand out moment.

For those that fondly remember the TV series, this will raise a smile, but for everyone else this is probably not the best introduction to the world of Morecambe & Wise.
