Following on from the huge cliffhanger at the end of Season 6, the team is in search of the person who shot Horatio Caine at the airstrip while waiting to whisk his family out of the country. When suspects emerge, a shocking surprise surfaces as one of them is revealed as a member of the CSI team...

Horatio Caine and his team of CSI investigators battle demons from their past that test loyalty, love, friendship and honour. Eric Delko is interviewed to assist in finding a killer connected to his past, Ryan Wolfe aids a murder suspect and an investigation reveals the person behind a kidnapping may be someone closer to the case than first imagined. The season comes to a boiling point when the team must come together to stop a Russian Mob boss from escaping, save Yelina Salas as her cover is blown and Eric Delko considers helping his criminal father, which could end his career or worse, his life.

This collection contains all 24 episodes of the show's seventh season. Highlights include:

Bombshell: When a teenager dies in an explosion in the changing room of an expensive boutique the CSI team are called in. Jolene Blalock (Star Trek: Enterprise's Commander T'Pol) makes a very brief cameo appearance.

Wrecking Crew: While preparing to testify against a gangster a man is murdered, in front of the CSI team, as a huge crane smashes into the high rise building that is supposed to be a police safe house.

Power Trip: When the body of a young woman is found the forensic evidence suggests that it's the work of a serial killer who has escaped capture for some time. The detective who investigates the original killing is brought in to help. He thinks he already knows who the killer is and wants to prove that his original suspect from the first murder is the guilty party.

Head Case: A man is found covered in blood and walking in the street. The CSI team are brought in to find out if he killed a family whose blood is all over him. He claims not to have any memory of the events. Is he lying, or could he be innocent?

Divorce Party: During an elaborate divorce party ceremony the ex-wife's dead husband falls from the alter with a noose tied around his neck. The CSI soon discover that the dead man led a double life. His ex-wife and son thought he was a spy... but it was something much more sinister. This episode also sees Caine's son, Kyle, starting work in the morgue.

Wolfe In Sheep's Clothing: After Wolfe was caught and tortured by the Russians, he is set free and told to attend a crime scene and dispose of evidence - otherwise his friend's young son will be killed. Wolfe has no choice but to work behind the backs of his colleagues.

Dead on Arrival: A reality TV show, in which a millionaire must date and then finally wed one of a number of female contestants, becomes a crime scene after the woman he chooses to be his bride is found dead. Caine and his crew must interview everyone on the set to see who would have motive to kill someone on what should be her happy day.

While these episode are my personal favourites, as usual, there isn't a bad episode in this collection.

Extras include audio commentaries on two episodes; The Miami Sound Machine (30 min look at the important role sound plays in the show); The New AV Lab (14 min, 09 sec look at the technology used in the show's lab); and Heating up Season 7 (21 min, 34 sec look at the important plot threads that unravel this season. This is worth watching for Rex Linn (who plays Tripp on the show) begging to have a girlfriend next season).

It's good to see that Momentum Pictures has finally started releasing CSI in complete season box sets and at a reasonable retail price.
