Filmed live at London’s Hammersmith HMV Apollo, this is the fourth live stand up show from Ricky Gervais. Never afraid to challenge comedy boundaries, Ricky is renowned for his acerbic observational humour and cutting delivery. Set on a stage designed to look like Frankenstein’s castle laboratory, this show brings together thought provoking rants and tongue in cheek political incorrectness about subjects as diverse as religion, racism and obesity...

Ricky Gervais Live IV - Science is a recording of Gervais's latest stand up tour. On balance it's quite amusing - there are a few gags that are very near the knuckle, but these are the jokes you'll tell your mates down the pub and think nothing of - they do sound a little off coming from Gervais.

Also he has a little habit of milking the material a little too much. His attack on obese people goes on a little, as does his observations of Noah's Ark.

The jokes flow well into one another, and there was only one instance where the links didn't follow naturally and that was where he went from talking about an old lady to how spiders are always ready for action.

Extras include Meet Karl Pilkington II (24 min, 54 sec where Ricky interviews his producer); When Karl Met Warwick (10 min, 02 sec first meeting of Warwick Davis and Pilkington - designed to make Pilkington confront his fear of "little people"); and Ricky in New York (10 min, 02 sec look at Ricky in America).

If you're a fan of Gervais's then this DVD is well worth picking up.
