Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda return as past meets present, relationships collide and nothing turns out quite as expected for New York’s most fashionable foursome. The group explore the unexpected challenges of motherhood, marriage and more and find themselves in a whole new world... albeit one filled with designer dresses and an abundance of cocktails...

Sex in the City 2 reminded me of the route that poor '70s British sitcoms used to go down when they made the leap from small to big screen. Cozy suburbia was left behind for a trip to Spain or some other European destination. The humour would then come from how Johnny Foreigner didn't quite do things like we did back home in Blighty.

In these enlighten times it was a little disappointing to see Sex and the City transported to the Far East with all the ignorance and mild racism that I thought had died out a long time ago. The movie's portrayal of the Middle East is laughably racist. But sadly you can't help but feel that this is exactly how middle America views that region of the world and its people.

This is released as a two-disc DVD, but I I can't comment on the extras as for some reason we received the "digital copy" DVD that I assume was packaged with the Blu-ray release. However, I can't say that I'm sorry as just watching the movie was more than enough of my time wasted.

At 2 hours and 20 minutes, this movie pushes the paper thin plot to breaking point. The jokes (?) work every once in a blue moon, but they are more miss than hit.

Diehard fans may get something out of this... everyone else will just be embarrassed by the whole experience.
