Based on The Garbage Pail Kids trading cards craze, Windy Winston, Messie Tessie, Foul Phil, Valerie Vomit and the whole gruesome Garbage Pail crew are brought to life in this outrageous adventure. When the stinky bunch are let loose in the junk shop of mysterious Captain Manzini, young helper Dodger finds these grimy gremlins are just the help he needs to deal with local bullies. But can he get them back to where they belong before they gross out the world...?

The Garbage Pail Kids Movie (1987) is, without a doubt, one of the worst movies every made. And, by rights I should just end this review here.

The worst thing about this movie is that there doesn't seem to have been any real focus - it's as though everything was thrown together on the set as they went along. The Garbage Pail Kids were originally designed as trading cards that poked fun at the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls that were popular in the '80s. What the movie producers have done here is take that concept and thrown away the idea behind the original characters so one minute they're causing mischief and the next they're singing a song about helping each other.

The script is so bad it's almost laughable, the acting is terrible and... well lets be honest, there isn't a single good thing about this movie. It's awful from start to finish.

Out of The Garbage Pail Kids available the ones chosen for the movie include Windy Winston (who farts a lot), Messie Tessie (whose runny snot gets everywhere), Foul Phil (who looks like a giant baby and doesn't actually appear to do anything of interest other than have bad breath), Valerie Vomit (who throws up on people), Ali Gator (he looks like an alligator and likes to chew people's toes), Nat Nerd (pees himself all the time) and Greaser Greg (a '50s biker).

The Garbage Pail Kids themselves are played by short actors in truly hideous looking animatronics costumes. The end result makes them look like goblin sized adults... which is truly creepy. I can imagine that if I'd seen this movie when I was younger, it would have scared the crap out of me.

The only thing I liked about this release was the fact there were no extras to watch on top of the movie.

Buy it for someone you really hate.
