Mackinlay Smith and Dan Gooch are Neon Circus hailing form Leicester, UK. With nothing more than a guitar and a home PC, these two became music allies. Spending much time familiarising themselves with software and experimenting with new sounds and synthesisers they eventually got enough money to buy a small studio set where they moved out of a bedroom and into a garage attic which they still continue to work in.

After seeing the forming of and break up of a six piece band, Smith and Gooch carried on their work which saw them set up Jacket Potato Records and the completion of an album.

'Digit-izm' is the second single taken from Neon Circus' forthcoming debut album Don't Get Panicked, which will be released later this year.

Following on from their debut single, 'Future Disco', the boys still keep their music grainy and futuristic sounding. I love how the vocals in 'Digit-izm' are full of raw attitude, making a statement of 'don't mess with us when it comes to the future sound of music!'

'Remember' is more of a light and airy single with floaty lyrics. The beat still packs a punch though and there is a hint of attitude in these innocent sounding vocals. The middle of the track lures you in to a trance-hypnotic state which plays around with different vibes of electronica, guitar, bass and strings. Love it.

To add to this single release there are remixes from Ladyfingaz, on 'Digit-izm, and Memberflex on 'Remember'. The Ladyfingaz mix is pure bass giving it a dark feel while the Memberflex mix is a fast house style mix infused with jazz, giving a rush about the whole track.

If these tracks are anything to go on then I can't wait for their debut album to come out.
