For those of you who don't know, Chus and Ceballos are one of the most prestigious and successful production and remixing pair in the international electronic scene. This Spanish duo are famous for their trademark 'Iberian Sound' and have travelled the world spreading their musical message. Holding residencies in the most prestigious clubs on the electronic circuit: Stereo in Montreal, Pacha in New York and Space in Miami and remixes for Madonna, Paris Hilton, Luzon and Deep Dish have gained them a tremendous reputation in the music industry. This duo have now released a two-disc compilation, Back On Tracks which mirrors their career to date with high energy tribal beats laced with the brilliant use of modern tech elements. Disc One is the Midnight Express Mix with some truly magnificent beats and tunes to get your groove into which boasts a magnificent 23 tracks. The Heller & Farley Project 'We Built This House' Ft. Cevin Fisher (Mix 1) gets this disc off to a flying start, it has a strong beat with some great mixing in the background. The laugh in the background sits well on this tune. Ramon Tapia 'Colorzz' (Original Mix) has a true funky feel to it mixed with some harsh beats and 'keep it real' vocals. Loving this sound, it's fresh and bright. The Adam Shaw, Tim Weeks 'Frog Face' (Original Club Mix) has a cool tribal sound going on mixed with the modern sounds of electronica. The echoey tribal vocals keep this tune on track. I love the remix to Dennis Ferrer's 'Hey Hey' (DF's Attention Vocal Mix). Whilst keeping the vocals from the original, this song is flipped on its head in this mix with some banging beats to wake anybody's party up Simon Garcia 'Hallucinogenic' (Larakka's Nite Delite Mix) must have one of the most famous beats played out in electronic music. It's has that warm, familiar feel to it. Playing out as if in a rainforest is Chus + Ceballos 'Afrika' (Chris Soul & Frank Knight 2010 Remix). I love the tribal sound to this mixed with the dance beat; it really works well. Disc Two is the DJ Essential Bonus Tracks (Unmixed). Here we get 10 extra tunes which are all over 6 minutes in length. Dance tune heaven! DJ Chus 'That Feeling' (DJ Chus 2010 Revisited Remix) opens the second disc with a cool soulful dance mix. I absolutely love the vibe this song throws out. Its punchy, classy and above all funky. With this duo coming from Spain, it's nice to hear a song with a hint of Spanish music in Robbie Taylor 'Paseos' (Original Stereo Mix). This is an upbeat exotic tune with a twist. Richie Santana, Rob Mirage 'The Calling' (Original Stereo Mix) has a quirky beat which makes this tune stand out. There are a few beats going on in this track, which gives it depth and a cool rhythm. After listening to these two discs, it's easy to see how Chus and Ceballos hold residencies at the most prestigious clubs on the electric circuit. They glide with ease through tunes and would give the most boring party an edge which would make people want to be seen attending. These guys are truly talented and you can hear their passion for music. 9 Helena Rea Buy this item online
