David Longstreth formed Dirty Projectors in 2002 and the principal members now consist of Angel Deradoorian, Amber Coffman, Brian Mcomber, Nat Baldwin, Haley Dekle and David himself.

On 8 May 2009, members of Dirty Projectors collaborated with Björk to perform an original composition by Longstreth, written for five voices and acoustic guitar, as part of a charity concert to benefit Housing Works, a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing shelter for homeless men, women, and children suffering from AIDS. The concert was held at the Housing Works Bookstore & Café in downtown New York City.

Originally released in summer 2009, around their album, Bitte Orca. 'Stillness Is The Move' features a heavenly solo vocal piece from the band's Amber Coffman. The light strum of the melody envelopes warmth around Coffman's airy vocals making for a magical sound.

With 7 tracks on this single you definitely get your money's worth. 'Stillness Is The Move' has the following versions on this single; the radio edit, album version, a cappella, Lucky Dragon's Remix and a version mixed by Jimmy Douglas. The other two tracks are 'Wave The Bloody Shirt' and 'Bitte Bitte Orca'.

The 'Lucky Dragon's Remix' is very oriental in sound and its racy beat makes for a hurried along sounding track. I have to say I prefer the previous tracks of the radio, album and a cappella versions.

'Bitte Bitte Orca' is a dramatic piece played out with a string quartet and something you may imagine in an epic movie, although very short at just 1 min. 18 secs, it's a very moving piece.

The final track on this disc is mixed by Jimmy Douglas, it's more of the same as the radio and album edit, which finishes this single off nicely.

Dirty Projectors always step up to the mark and this time is no different. A very heartfelt track with good beats and rhymes.
