Kieran Hebden is a post-rock and electronic musician born in London. Hebden first came to prominence as a member of the band Fridge before establishing himself as a solo artist under the name of Four Tet. Hebden's music typically avoids the traditional pop song format in favour of a more abstract approach, his sound and melodies incorporate elements of hip-hop, electronica, techno, jazz, and folk music with live instrumentation. Four Tet is here to release a remix 12” of the track 'Angel Echoes', taken from his much acclaimed fifth LP, There Is Love In You. This single features the Caribou remix which lasts for just under 8 minutes. It starts tamely with soft beats and electronica and vocals to match but soon pushes up the scale to reveal a stronger beat which goes on and on. The second remix is the Jon Hopkins remix which is shorter in length and opens with the sound of a soothing piano mixed underneath some electro beats. The two marry up well and lead us on a tranquil journey to soothe the soul. This is an interesting sound and I think I like it, especially the latter of the two remixes. If you're looking for a tranquil sound then this is the single for you. 7 Helena Rea Buy this item online
