Jeff Toyne, who came to film music prominence with his acclaimed orchestral score for the independent thriller Shadow in the Trees, has written a dark and mesmerizing score for the Lifetime movie Within, which tells the story about a young girl who has the unique gift to see evil spirits within others...

Jeff Toyne's soundtrack for Within is a bit of a strange one. The majority of Toyne's compositions ranges between cliched shock horror music and rather dull atmospheric tracks. There was very little that I found interesting or memorable.

However there are few interesting inclusions. 'Hallowe'en is Here' is a comical vocal track in the vein of music that fans of The Nightmare Before Christmas will recognise. And I was impressed with Miriam Jones's two vocal tracks 'Squander' and 'Dust and Sand'.

If you fancy a bland atmospheric album with a few surprises thrown in then this might be worth a listen... otherwise I'd suggest avoiding this.
