Anané is a multi talented singer, songwriter, producer and DJ. With music running through her veins from childhood, which was spent in West Africa's Cape Verde, Anané took her talent to New York with nothing more to her name but some clothes and her hopes and dreams. It was here that she met Producer, DJ and Grammy Award winner Louie Vega who tapped her as an integral member of the Elements Of Life Collective.

Anané has forged an international career which includes appearances at many festivals around the world from Japan to Finland, South Africa and the UK. Also an entrepreneur and philanthropist Anané has been involved in NextAid, an organisation for African children who have lost parents to AIDS, as well as the Anané Vega Scholarship Fund.

‘Plastic People’ is her new single taken from the album Ananésworld, which was released in February of this year (2010).

With 22 different versions of this track (although we only received 10 on the review copy) there surely must be something for everyone on here.

The original edit houses a classic 1980s sound which is fused with guitars, base lines and a touch of harmonica. The vocals are, without a doubt, rock style and give this single a certain edgy feel.

There are dance versions, soul and funky versions, dub versions and electronic versions. What I love about this single is that although there are many variations of this tune they all hold the body of the original single in all its glory.
