Following his critically acclaimed album, Heartland, Owen Pallett is here with his brand new EP to show off his new material.

The A Swedish Love Story EP comprises of 4 tracks and all are overflowing with pop melodies, sweeping strings and lots of heartfelt emotion. ‘A Man With No Ankles’ starts us off with an '80s sounding pop melody full of vibrant strings bringing the track to life. It’s a fun and happy sounding song to brighten up anyone’s day.

I love the intro to ‘Scandal At The Parkade’. The strings are beautiful and if you listen hard I’m sure you can hear a familiar ring to them. Once the vocals kick in this tune gets more emotional and could quite easily be used for a movie scene.

A little slower in pace is ‘Honour The Dead, Or Else’, the vocals are softer and when the melody comes in it becomes quite an emotional tune.

‘Don’t Stop’, begins with a big intro on the strings which moves onto the pop melody and eases us out on a high.

I’m really liking the sounds of Owen Pallett and will definitely be giving him the time of day to add his music to my ever growing collection.
