Chewbacca sock puppets. Ewok Flower Vases. AT-AT Herb Gardens. With The Star Wars Craft Book, fans of all ages and skill levels can bring the best of the galaxy far, far away right into their own homes. Fully illustrated, this guide features a variety of fun and original projects... For the Star Wars fan who has everything... here's something they certainly won't have - and will definitely want. The Star Wars Craft Book is a fun book that has loads of craft ideas to help entertain the kid over the summer break or a wet weekend. The book is split into five chapters: Playtime; Home Decor; Holiday Crafts; Nature & Science Crafts and Star Wars Style. There's also a brief rundown of the general supplies you'll need. There's at least a handful of projects here for everyone - no matter how artistic or otherwise you are. There are a number of things that's great about this book. Firstly, the items are all really easy to make and the pictures of the finished items actually look like something even the most artless person could manage. Secondly, the book is really a jumping off point for your own imagination to run riot and come up with your own ideas. And finally it allows you to indulge yourself in a little Blue Peter style construction that most of us won't have attempted in years. My particular favourites include a cuddly Batha toy; Bith Band spoon puppets; Han Solo in soaponite; snow globes; wookie bird house; Emperor Appletine doll; AT-AT herb garden; and R2-D2 crocheted beanie. And, while it might not look much, I also liked the idea of the Mouse Droid cat toy. Sadly my own son turns 20 this year and so doing activities with his old man has not exactly been high on his agenda for some years. I may have to lock myself away in the shed and create my own AT-AT herb garden while wearing an R2-D2 crocheted beanie. 9 Darren Rea |
