Originally broadcast in 1985, ThunderCats has become one of the most enduring animated series of its era. For the first time in print, Hear the Roar! documents every aspect of the production of this iconic show - told by the people who made it. Featuring over 80 exclusive interviews with cast and crew members, this definitive reference guide charts ThunderCats's creation and development, drawing on a wealth of never-before-seen production paperwork and leaving no stone unturned. Dedicated chapters highlight the writing, animating, scoring and recording of ThunderCats, while a comprehensive story guide reviews all 130 episodes, including notes from the scriptwriters themselves. The legendary ThunderCats toy line from LJN Toys is documented too, and even the associated series SilverHawks is explored...

I may be stating the obvious here, but Hear the Roar! is only going to appeal to fans of the '80s animated ThunderCats TV series and toy line. Personally, while I enjoyed the show when it was broadcast on TV, I wasn't an avid fan and I never owned a ThunderCats toy - but then that's probably because I was slightly too old at the time.

This book is an invaluable source of information for those that grew up with the franchise and loved it. Maybe you bought every toy and product that was released, or maybe you found it hard to collect them all... whatever your ThunderCats history, there's a wealth of interesting information here for you to soak up.

This book also includes nine pages of colour photographs which feature images of those responsible for creating various aspects of the ThunderCats franchise, some of the vocal actors on the TV show, the packaged figures and a look at some of the prototypes.

The new, 2011 series is mention only on the final page of the book, but then this shouldn't be a huge surprise as this book exists to showcase the '80s phenomena.

It's well written and incredible meticulously researched. If you love ThunderCats you'll love this.
