When they return to the present day everything at first seems the same... only now Jo never dated Zane, Kevin is no longer autistic, Henry is married to Grace, Jack discovers that he and Tess are still together and Fargo is the director of Global Dynamics...

A Town Called Eureka: Season 4.0 collects together the first nine episodes of the fourth season (of which there are 20 episodes in total) of this American sci-fi series. The show is known as simply Eureka in America, but was retitled A Town Called Eureka for the European market.

The show's fourth season shakes things up a little by having a handful of the main characters travelling back to 1947 when Eureka was still an army base. When they eventually manage to return to their own time they discover that quite a few things are different and someone from the '40s has managed to travel back to the present with them.

As I was watching the first episode (Founder's Day) which sets up the rest of the season, I couldn't help thinking of Back to the Future... And when we got to episode I'll Be Seeing You near the end of this collection is was obvious the writers were paying homage to Back to the Future II - right down to the fact that a kiss winds up playing an instrumental part in ensuring that the future turns out okay.

All the Rage: When the residents of Eureka start to become uncontrollably angry, the cause has to be found before everyone is under the influence. This episode features Star Trek: The Next Generation's Wil Wheaton as a scientist.

Crossing Over: This is the Warehouse 13 crossover episode which sees Claudia Donovan turning up in Eureka.

The Ex-Files: Some of the residents of Eureka are seeing people from their past that they shouldn't be seeing. Are they real and is so what do they want?

Extras include Founder's Day Extended Version (51 min, 44 sec version of the original episode which runs for 42 min, 01 sec); Founder's Day Extended Version Commentary; In the Beginning: Founder's Day 1947 (5 min, 25 sec behind the scenes look at the Camp Eureka set); three different Deleted Scenes segments (one on each disc to represent that disc's episodes: 4 min, 09 sec; 15 min, 52 sec; and 5 min, 09 sec); and Gag Reel (4 min, 49 sec).

While entertaining enough, Eureka is not a show that I've really grown to love. It's mindless, lowbrow entertainment and nothing more.
