Guy Hatfield's, aka Hyper, third studio album is packed with more memorable anthems than most musicians manage in their career. The Panic gets off on the right foot with 'The End'. This fuses '80s grunge with a heavy rock framework. Then layer upon layer of finely crafted modern rock anthems and vocals are injected to give a truly memorable track. 'My World' wouldn't sound out of place in a montage sequence in CSI - which Hatfield has composed for in the past. And was that a brief musical homage to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory I spotted? At the centre of 'Machine' is a great guitar riff. This track brought to mind the work of Pendulum. 'Cheap Thrill' has the album's most memorable track. There's some great lyrics here and a catchy tune. Over the course of this album's 10 tracks, which make up around 40 minutes of music, there isn't a dull moment. Fans of The Prodigy and Pendulum would do well to check this out. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online
