'Wild in the Warehouse / Redrinkulous' is the first single taken from Kissy Sell Out's forthcoming second album, Wild Romance. This nine track EP includes five mixes of 'Wild in the Warehouse' and four mixes of 'Redrinkulous'. To be honest this is not my sort of music and the only way I can see anyone enjoying it is off their head on illegal substances in a sweaty club. The first track relies on speeded up vocals and other bizarre sounds laid over a pretty pumping track. It's a shame, because if you take off the "smurfs" then this is a fairly good track. 'Redrinkulous' is a far better offering, but it's still not something I can see anyone listening to in isolation. Possibly the biggest issue I had with this release is the fact that it doesn't add anything new to the scene - if anything there are too many cliches trotted out that were cliches back in the '90s. If mindless pap that goes nowhere is your think... then lap this up. 2 Nick Smithson |
