Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill and her Aunt Kate. Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger... Once again Lakeshore Records are spoiling soundtrack fans by offering two music released for a single movie - something that all labels should do. There's a soundtrack of just Marco Beltrami's music and then there's this release which includes two tracks (representing seven minutes of music) by Beltrami and a further 10 middle of the road music tracks by various artists. To be honest the majority of the various artist tracks are not the sort of thing I'd listen to, but to be fair they work well in this compilation. No doubt this will be flavour of the month this summer in many a car stereo. Personally I'll be looking forward to the other release next month (May 2011) as I'm a huge fan of Beltrami's scores ever since I heard his work for Knowing. However if you want his entire score for Scream 4 you'll have to purchase both soundtracks (or buy the two tracks on this album through iTunes).
