Having reviewed two previous singles by Baron Bane ('Echoes' and 'Midthing') I was under the impression that their album LPTO was being released in late 2011. Little did I know that it's been available since the beginning of May - otherwise I'd have been clamouring to get a review copy and singing its praises at every opportunity. I finally got my review copy almost three months later... but whose complaining? LPTO contains 10 tracks with a running time of 52 mins, 05 sec. We open with the instrumental 'Reconstruction', which is a great introduction. There's an '80s/'90s AOR feel to this album - which believe me is a very good thing. My personal favourites include 'Echoes'; 'Sordid Eyes'; 'Transience'; 'Midthing' (even though the sound distortion is still evident); 'And The Flare Will Spark'. However, that doesn't mean that I didn't enjoy the other tracks - far from it. This is a feel good album that is hard not to like. Pick it up now... let the memories of the summer of 2011 be shaped by Baron Bane. 9 Nick Smithson Buy this item online |
