From the team that brought you Hoodwinked, the retelling of the classic Little Red Riding Hood fable which grossed over $110 million worldwide, comes the follow-up Hoodwinked Too!: Hood Vs. Evil. The sequel catches up with our heroine, Little Red, training with a covert group called the Sisters of the Hood. Finishing her training, Little Red is sent out on her first mission by the returning Nicky Flippers - head of the Happily Ever After Agency - to investigate the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel... Murray Gold's score for Hoodwinked Too! is an interesting release. There are large, over the top dramatic tracks, comedy segments and beautifully crafted themes - basically something for everyone. For those that like the bold and dramatic there's 'Happily Ever Before' which starts this soundtrack off with a bang. Then there's tracks including 'Red' and 'A Dastardly Growth Spurt'. As far as comedy goes we have, amongst others, the wild and wacky 'Hoodwinked Hop' and 'The Song Of Kirk'. And for those who love beautiful themes there's a number of tracks in this vein including the haunting 'Sister Hoods', 'Hoodwinked Hop' and the Tim Burton-esque 'How It All Started'. There are also a lot of old fashioned jazz influenced classic spy themes like 'Operation Free The Children', 'Out Of Reach' and 'HEA'. To be honest it's these that make up the lion's share of the tracks on this album. Over this score's 46 minutes of music, which is spread over 28 tracks, there isn't a wasted beat. This is a good, solid score which may surprise you if you only know Gold from his work on Doctor Who. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online |
