Following on from Keb Darge and Little Edith's Legendary Rockin' R&B (2010) comes another rocking collection of long forgotten and rare recordings. Legendary Wild Rockers offers rockers a compilation of rockabilly, surf And exotica. The album kicks off with Dale McBride's 1960 recording of 'Prissy Missy' this version was five years before the mid-'60s version he recorded for Teardrop records. If you own the more famous edition, then it's interesting to compare the two. Also of interested is 'Sha-Boom Bang' by Brother Zee. This is a response to the Trashmen's 'Surfin Bird', which was in turn a Surf answer to the Rivington's 'pa pa oh mow mow'. You can clearly hear the influences peppered throughout this track. Over this album's twenty tracks my personal favourite has to be 'Flipsville', just for how it sticks in your head. On the bizarre side is 'Switchblade' which some rather strange screaming. This is a good collection of tracks all which you'll recognise the riffs from more famous songs - this genre had a very familiar style which was copied quite a lot.
