Alberto Iglesias's dark and jazzy soundtrack to director Thomas Alfredson's sinister film adaptation of John le Carre's novel is like stepping back, ever so slightly, in time. There are elements, however faint, that reminded me of John Barry's jazz scores of the past. Along with the jazz based tracks, there are more modern pieces. For example 'Anything Else?' reminded me of Marco Beltrami's music for Knowing. The album consists of 19 tracks which come in at just under an hour's worth of music. While interesting enough, this is far from an essential purchase. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online |
