Hip-hop's grimiest duo, The Alchemist + Oh No (Gangrene), have joined forces with Roc Marciano to release 'Greneberg' on US label Decon.

This EP is available as a 6-track vinyl 12" as well as downloadable MP3 (with a bonus track 'Jaws' - which sadly wasn't on the review CD re received).

This is a funky, jazz infused collection of singles with some hardcore hip-hop rapping that will knock you for six. There's also an instrumental edition available to buy on MP3, and to be honest I'd be tempted to purchase both editions. The rapping is well above average, but when laid over the emotive soundtrack we have something seriously worth standing up and taking notice of.

The guitar riff that is the core of 'Hoard 90' is a blast of retro funk that seriously ups the emotion of the track. Also worthy of note is the backing track of 'Sewer Gravy (Ft. Roc Marciano)' that sounds like the soundtrack to a '70s detective/cop show.

This is an EP that's well worth seeking out.
