Deus Ex: Human Revolution Original Soundtrack features 25 compositions from the game's original score composed by Michael McCann (ReGenesis, Splinter Cell: Double Agent, It's All Gone Pete Tong). Renowned for his ambient cinematic scores and emotional organic soundscapes in film, television and video games, Michael McCann's original music reflects the dark and beautifully visualized world of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and enhances the game's unique mix of stealth, action, and role-playing genres. Set during a time of great innovation in neuroprosthetics, but also a time of chaos, conspiracy and a new social divide, the transhumanism-inspired soundtrack for Deus Ex: Human Revolution fuses various musical styles and thematic elements including cybernoir, futuristic renaissance and electrosymphonic ambience. But the problem with this soundtrack, as a standalone project, is that the strengths of the music in the game (to add ambient music) don't work anywhere near as well when listened to in isolation. In fact, of this score's 1 hr, 7 mins, 18 sec (spread over 25 tracks) there were only two I actually enjoyed: 'Limb Clinic' and 'Penthouse'. While the other tracks are fine, they just didn't do anything for me on their own merits. But I know, from experience, that they seriously heighten the effects of the game. While the music is technically excellent it works best when accompanying the visuals of the game. 3 Darren Rea Buy this item online
