Capitan Trueno [Captain Thunder] is one of the most popular comic book heroes in Spain and the long-awaited film version depicting his adventures calls for nothing less than a truly epic, big and heroic orchestral score. Spanish composer Luis Ivars delivers a score that will be appreciated by fans of such esteemed action maestros as Alan Silvestri, Hans Zimmer and Basil Poledouris... The soundtrack to Capitan Trueno Y El Santo Grail [Captain Thunder and the Holy Grail] was a welcome surprise. I didn't know what to expect, but Luis Ivars's score represents a wonderful collection of orchestrated set pieces. There were so many beautiful standout themes that it's difficult to know where to even begin praising this release. While Ivar has a style of his own, I couldn't help but be reminded of the work of Bernard Herrmann (especially on the track 'Heads Forest and Village'), Hans Zimmer and John Williams. This album consists of 20 tracks, which represent 53 min, 02 sec worth of music, but because there are so many powerful and beautiful moments it seemed to last a lot longer. Another impressive soundtrack release from the vaults of MovieScore Media. 9 Darren Rea Buy this item online
