The soundtrack to I Melt With You features classic new wave, modern rock and punk tracks from artists including Bauhaus, The Pixies, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and an updated version of the eponymous track by Modern English. Richard (Thomas Jane), Ron (Jeremy Piven), Tim (Christian McKay), and Jonathan (Rob Lowe) are friends from college who gather for a weekend each year to celebrate their friendship and catch up with each other. On the surface, they look like other men going through life: they have careers and families and responsibilities. But as with many people, there is more to them than meets the eye. As the weekend progresses, they go down the rabbit hole of excess. Fuelled by sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll, their bacchanalian reunion drives them to an unexpected place where they are forced to confront themselves and the choices they’ve made... Personally, this is a soundtrack I wouldn't listen to again. It's not that the music isn't to my taste I used to be both a huge Pixie fan and when younger was bought several Adam and the Ants albums, so some of the music here is a bit like a trip down memory lane... only this isn't the best collection of tracks to celebrate or represent the era. While fans of the movie may appreciate this release, everyone else will find this a rather odd collection of tracks - a rather naff soundtrack to your life if you have no taste in music. 01 - 'All Going Out Together' - Big Dipper 2 Darren Rea Buy this item online |
