For the young rising through the ranks of the super-villain set, The Heat has always provided his unqualified wisdom, support and loyalty. Super-cons everywhere owe him far more than they can ever repay. And now that The Heat has run up $100 million in gambling debts to the vengeful Salamander, he's got no choice but to call in every one of those favours.

Enter Johnny Bolt, fresh off a five-year bid for using his super-powers during a robbery. But Johnny and his pals are on edge. Veteran super-villains all, they're subject to constant shakedowns from the law and super heroes, and they're competing with a host of other super-powered criminals with the same ideas. To help The Heat, they'll have to get creative. They'll have to go where the lack of competition opens up a whole new set of opportunities. They'll have to go to Spain - to steal from the biggest, richest target of all in the final score to end all final scores.

But everyone thinks robbing the world's most notorious super-villain, The Bastard, is about the worst idea Johnny's ever had - everyone but Johnny. Will his brashness win them over? Or will the final score be the one The Bastard puts on the board - in blood?

It's an interesting tale, well plotted, which will be well received by Millar's fans.
