It's 1918, and the war-weary Charley has fallen foul of his old comrade. The Scholar, whose personal vendetta against the young Tommy leads to a court marshal and a grim future away from the field of combat. Elsewhere, Charley's pilot brother Wilf takes to the skies to see off an attack on London by deadly Zeppelin-Staaken giant bombers. Their paths are soon to cross again, but under the most tragic of circumstances...

Death from Above is the latest, and penultimate graphic novel release of the Charley's War comic book series written by Pat Mills.

This volume details events from January 1918 to April 1918 and sees Charley up for court martial for accidentally shooting himself in the foot, his marriage to nurse Kate Wincer; a sad event for the Bourne family; some of the past adventures of cousin Jack, who serves in the Navy; the world's first tank battle; and the return of an old, and rather mad, enemy.

Also included is Shell Shock and the First World War, which explains some of the problems that young men had to face; a run down of events that have happened previously in the series; and a detailed Strip Commentary by Pat Mills, where he gives a little more background information on each episode.

Yet another great collection of this wonderfully written and beautifully illustrated series.
