Set in the city that never sleeps, CSI: New York is a spin-off from the hugely popular CSI series. Following on from Vegas and Miami, this CSI has a distinct New York City flavour and style. Dealing with a city with a three hundred year history and eight million residents is a whole different ball game... The New York crime lab dynamics is given a bit of a shake up this season as we are introduced to Jo Danville who was previously with the FBI. She adds a more motherly touch to the team, with her caring attitude and ability to instantly sum up a situation and individuals personalities. In addition, Mac discovers an old friend isn't as just as he thought they were; Sheldon gets involved with an old friend; Danny and Lindsay are as much in love as every; and Sid receives a bit of a shock that nearly costs him his life. Highlights this season include the episodes: Unfriendly Chat, in which Adam sees a girl murdered while he's hooked up to a roulette chat webcam site. But did he really see a murder or was it a hoax? And how on earth can they track down the address of the victim? They could be anywhere in the world. Do Not Pass Go, sees a dead body being discovered in a classic car which has been placed on the roof of an office block. The killer uses the parents of their victims to add an additional amount of pain and suffering to the murders. Scared Stiff, in which a frozen body is found in Central Park. It appears that the victim was literally scared to death. We learn that there have been several instances of ghostly apparitions in the area too. Did the frozen woman die after seeing a ghost? To What End, sees a clown kill a man in broad daylight and attempt to escape on foot. The police have no problem chasing him down, until they turn a corner and dozens of similarly dressed clowns are milling around. Part Down: An elite party, which is being held in a large truck, comes to an abrupt end when the truck is started up and driven into the Hudson River, killing several of the partygoers. Is the killer amoungst the survivors? Mac and his team must use the evidence to find out. Identity Crisis, sees an old man attacked and killed on the underground. However, the old man isn't what he seems; he's actually a young woman in disguise. But why would a woman pretend to be an old man? Extras include a number of Deleted Scenes featurettes; a number of Video Blogs; An Extended Visit: John Larroquette Comes to CSI: NY (8 min, 10 sec); New in Town: Jo Danville (11 min, 48 sec); Wild Ride: On the Set with Peter Fonda (7 min, 31 sec); Seventh Deadly Season (22 min, 23 sec); and Gag Reel (2 min, 36 sec). Season seven is yet another incredible collection in this show, which is going from strength to strength. There isn't a bad episode amongst the 22 in this collection. 9 Amber Leigh |
