Composer Jesper Kyd has created an epic soundtrack for Assassin's Creed II. Following his atmospheric score for the original Assassin's Creed, Kyd takes the music in an adventurous new direction and crafts an immensely diverse, melodic and progressive musical palette featuring acoustic and symphonic orchestrations with emotional depth and diversity... The soundtrack for Assassin's Creed II is spread over two discs, across 35 tracks, representing 1 hr, 52 min, 59 sec worth of music. The first disc gets off to a great start with the heart-pounding, toe-tapping 'Earth' which sounds like a gripping theme from a US cop show. While the first disc was interesting enough, I wasn't expecting the huge leap in quality that was evident on disc two. This is the disc that houses the majority of the heartbreakingly beautiful tracks as well as the adrenaline fuelled action tracks. Highlights for me included 'Home In Florence'; 'Darkness Falls In Florence'; 'Sanctuary'; 'Flight Over Venice 2'; 'Stealth'; 'Venice Combat'; and 'Chariot Chase'. If you're a fan of the game, then you'll know what an atmospheric and wonderfully constructed score this is. Soundtrack fans should at least give this one a try, you may find it's well worth your while. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online |
