Some secrets must be seen to be believed... Red Lights follows a psychologist (Sigourney Weaver) and her assistant a physicist (Cillian Murphy) whose studies debunking paranormal activity lead them to investigate a world-renowned psychic (Robert De Niro)... Víctor Reyes score for Red Lights contains 21 tracks that make up 52 min, 24 sec of music. This is an impressive score that sounds similar in tone to a lot of James Horner's best work. Personal favourite tracks, include 'I Wasn't With Her' (the ending of which reminded me very much of Harry Gregson-Williams's score for Call of Duty 4); 'I Just Need To Know'; 'Concentrate, Ben!'; '...And Then You Wake Up'; and arguably this album's most beautiful track 'Dear Margaret' (the last half of which sounds a lot like John Williams's music for Saving Private Ryan and the very ending sounds like James Horner's score for The Rocketeer). This is a beautiful score that will stir strong emotions in even the most seasoned soundtrack collector. I'd not heard any of Víctor Reyes work before, but he's certainly a composer I'll be looking out for in the future. 9 Darren Rea |
