Marco Beltrami's score for The Woman In Black wonderfully helps to add atmosphere to the chilling Victorian ghost story which stars Daniel Radcliffe and Ciaran Hinds and is based on the bestseller by Susan Hill. Arthur Kipps, a widowed lawyer whose grief has put his career in jeopardy, is sent to a remote village to sort out the affairs of a recently deceased eccentric. But upon his arrival, it soon becomes clear that everyone in the town is keeping a deadly secret... The soundtrack to The Woman in Black is packed to bursting with trademark creepy, yet beautiful themes by Marco Beltrami. No one does creepy like Beltrami. 'The Woman in Black' holds this album's most beautifully conceived track. At its core is a theme that is echoed throughout the album. While there are quite a few atmospheric tracks that seem a little dull well listened to in isolation, they are interspersed amongst the more interesting offerings. I've been a fan of Beltrami's music since I saw Knowing, and while this soundtrack isn't quite up to the standards of his work on that movie, it's still pretty impressive. The album lasts for 55 min, 28 sec and is spread over 22 tracks. 7 Darren Rea Buy this item online
