Composer Frederik Wiedmann has turned in an impressive score for Hostel: Part III. This is far from the knocked out bland atmospheric offering I was expecting from the third part in a horror franchise. Wiedmann has approached this with a lot more care and attention than you'd think. There are plenty of interesting themes woven throughout this album, but my personal favourite tracks include 'Wheel of Misfortune'; 'Trailer Trash'; 'Dead Sexy'; and 'Tick...Tick...Tick'. Yes, there is the odd atmospheric filler material moments, but these are quickly swamped with music with a bit more substance. The soundtrack contains 19 tracks, coming in at 48 min, 09 sec. It's worth checking out - you might be surprised at how many interesting themes Wiedmann has managed to cram in here. 8 Darren Rea |
