In the suspense thriller, Gone, Jill Parrish (Amanda Seyfried) comes home from a night shift to discover her sister Molly (Emily Wickersham) has been abducted. Jill, having escaped from a kidnapping a year before, is convinced that the same serial killer has come back and taken Molly. The police think Jill is crazy and are unwilling to use their resources to help her. Afraid that Molly will be dead by sundown, she sets out alone on a heart-pounding chase to find the killer, expose his secrets and save her sister... David Buckley's soundtrack to Gone is interesting enough, but isn't the sort of score I'd listen to very often. While it no doubt works well in the movie, when listened to on its own it's a rather by-the-number affair of mellow suspense tracks. While, for some, that's fine, personally it doesn't do anything for me. 'Evidence' is arguably this album's most beautiful track, with 'Empty House' and 'End Titles' being worthy of your time. The album is a little short, coming in at just 38 min, 54 sec, spread over 12 tracks. Personally, while technically an impressive score, I didn't find much here to warrant a second listen. 6 Darren Rea Buy this item online |
