When Britain’s leading fisheries expert (Ewan McGregor) is approached by a consultant (Emily Blunt) to help realize a sheikh’s (Amr Waked) vision of bringing the sport of fly-fishing to the desert, he immediately thinks the project is both absurd and unachievable. But when the Prime Minister’s overzealous press secretary (Kristin Scott Thomas) latches on to it as a “good will” story, this unlikely team will put it all on the line and embark on an upstream journey of faith and fish to prove the impossible, possible... Dario Marianelli brings an interesting sound to his score for Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. While the album does have distinct and wonderful themes running throughout, there aren't any individual tracks that standout as being better than others. What this album does is offer the listener elements in almost every track that make you sit up and take notice. The album contains 15 tracks which lasts for 42 min, 08 sec. Personal highlights for me include 'Prologue'; 'Inspirational Sheikh' (which has a slow build to a beautiful section of music); 'Big Projects'; and 'Rob Returns'. It's worth checking this album out, there are some interesting moments that make it well worth your while. 8 Darren Rea Buy this item online
