Silva Screen Records releases a limited edition coloured 7" single of the 'Willow’s Song' / 'Gently Johnny from The Wicker Man soundtrack.

Written by American Paul Giovanni, performed by Magnet and sung by Lesley Mackie (who played Daisy in the film), 'Willow’s Song' is an erotic ballad was covered by numerous artists including Death In June, Doves, Sneaker Pimps and The Go! Team. The lyrics were sourced by screenwriter Anthony Shaffer from various spring pagan festivals' anthologies of lyrics.

I have to be honest and admit that neither of the songs on this single did much for me, but this is a collector's vinyl single that will be cherished by hardcore fans of the film and its music. If you're not bothered about owning a coloured vinyl edition, you can download the MP3 single for next to nothing, or even purchase the full soundtrack album, which has been available for some time.
