Days of Grace (Días de Gracia) spans a period of 12 years and three different soccer World Cup competitions. Each time period has a different style, exemplified by the three different sets of composers: Nick Cave and Warren Ellis (for the 2002 time period); Atticus Ross (for 2006); and Shigeru Umebayashi (for 2010)... I have to be honest and admit that I wasn't overly struck on the majority of the music contained on this soundtrack. In fact I could quite easily have skipped all but Shigeru Umebayashi's wonderful classical arrangements. It's not that it's truly terrible, just that on the whole it's not the sort of score that I can sit down and listen to for enjoyment. There are also too many sound bytes from the movie - which only make sense if you can speak Spanish. The album consists of 39 tracks and spans 1 hr, 13 min, 30 sec of music. But only around 30 mins of this (Umebayashi's input) is worthy of your time. 4 Darren Rea Buy this item online |
