Australia's Hip-Hop giants Hilltop Hoods, have released their #1 ARIA charting album Drinking from the Sun, in the UK. The album includes 14 tracks, with a running time of 44 min, 40 sec, and features guest appearances from Black Thought (the Roots). Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), Sia, Classified (Canada), Lotek (UK) and Solo (Horrorshow). Personal favourites on this album include the tongue in cheek 'Living in Bunkers' (the constant subtle spitting of "Dick head" will bring a smile to even the most uptight of listeners. This is a tight track with a slight reggae feel. 'Rattling The Keys To The Kingdom' ups the tempo with this fast paced rap. 'The Underground' has an interesting backing vocal that constantly references the underground. Put most impressive is the three part track 'The Thirst' which is slotted in amongst the other tracks, but has a classical feel to it. In fact the album has a slight classical music slant to it - with 'Drinking From The Sun' opening with a string segment and 'Lights Out' opening with a piano solo. This is certainly an album worth checking out. 8 Nick Smithson Buy this item online |
