Frederik Wiedmann's orchestral score for Green Lantern: The Animated Series is impressive in both its scope and delivery. The album contains 36 tracks and lasts for 1 hr, 09 min, 55 sec. While all tracks have something of note (worry not, there's no bland filler material here), I was surprised by how intricate some of them were. And the number of themes is mind blowing - this isn't an album where Wiedmann establishes one theme and then repeats various versions of it over and over again. In fact you'll be hard pressed to spot a theme that is reused.

Personal favourite tracks include: 'Royal Devotion'; 'Atrocitus'; 'Aya's Birth'; 'Resolution'; 'I am Mogo'; 'A New World'; and 'Victory'. But, as I previously mentioned, there isn't a track here that isn't worth listening to.

I suppose the easiest (sorry for taking the lazy option) way of describing this album is a cross between David Arnold's work on Independence Day and Marco Beltrami's score for Knowing. In fact the opening of 'Failure to Death' reminded me very much of Beltrami's track 'Caleb Leaves' from Knowing.

This is certainly worth adding to your soundtrack collection if your a fan of epic orchestral scores.
