Magic City (Original Television Score)

Composer: Daniele Luppi
Silva Screen Records
RRP: £13.99
Available 02 October 2012

Daniele Luppi’s loungy Mancini-esque score to the new STARZ series Magic City, emulates the sound of the late '50s and early '60s period. Luppi’s credits include a mixture of American based and World film and TV - Hell Ride, Sex & The City, Bruce Willis comedy Assassination of a High School President, and the Mexican drama Malos Hábitos...

Daniele Luppi's score for TV show Magic City has a diverse and interesting range of themes and set pieces. The album contains 19 tracks and lasts for 37 min, 33 sec and takes its influences from the '50/'60s - not a surprise really considering this is the time period of the show.

As atmospheric relaxing music goes, the score for Magic City ticks all the right boxes. While there's no real stand out track, 'Young Lovers' did reminded me of Howard Shore's music for The Silence of the Lambs.

Fans of the show will cherish the opportunity to own Luppi's interesting score - as will fan's of mellow, classical scores.
