Dawn of the Dead (2004) introduced director Zach Snyder and composer Tyler Bates to film fans all around the world. Surprisingly, Bates's score was never made available to the public. Milan Records releases the complete score to Snyder's directorial debut... Tyler Bates's score for Dawn of the Dead (2004) represents an interesting collection of themes, but it's more a score to be enjoyed while watching the movie rather than a standalone album. That's not to say that the album doesn't have its moments. Tracks like 'America Always Sorts Its Shit Out' are beautiful in their own right, it's just that the majority of the album consists of atmospheric cues - but to be fair these do mostly have interesting themes at their core. The album lasts for 1 hr, 04 min, 37 sec and contains 31 tracks. It's an interesting album, and well worth checking out as there are some solid atmospheric themes running throughout. 7 Darren Rea |
